I was once a long-time player of an app called vDream Racing, available on Facebook, My Space, Bebo and Tagged. I mainly played through Facebook and for a brief time, My Space. vDream was a unique and original car customising game that earned itself a very large player base and within that, an actual community.
In no time at all, the certain members of the community expressed their desire to create content for the game themselves, so vDream's developers allowed users to design their own cars and parts for the game and the best of this content would feature in the game.
From the 6th of April 2010, I submitted a handful of parts to the game and all of them were accepted and featured, earning me the status of "Designer" within the game's community.
Here is one of the cars from the game, a Toyota Supra.
And here is the same car customised with parts I designed. I created a headlight intake (a part used to force more air into the engine to produce more power), decoration for the headlights, a new front bumper with a new front spoiler, a new side skirt, a rear lip and decoration for the rear wheel arch.
To make it a little easier to see my work, I've put the blue parts on a silver Supra. The car was available in 6 colours, so for each part I designed, I had to create 6 versions of it in each colour.
In total I created 7 different parts for the game, however if you were to include the 6 manual recolours for each coloured part, the part total reaches a much greater number of 36.
vDream Racing unfortunately came to a close across all social platforms in November last year, due to the increasing costs of running the game and problems with Facebook's security system.
